CDS Annual Meeting Notes from Susie!
CDS Director, and SFP Chapter Member, Susie Lombardi reported from the CDS Annual Meeting, held last month: "I felt the Annual Meeting was very interesting. The creator of Fox Village, Pete Jorgensen, gave a very comprehensive lecture regarding show secretary, and a visual demo with large screen and individual laptops. Connie Davenport gave a lecture regarding show management. Both were very well received and something that has been needed for a very long time."
Susie, who also manages the SFP chapter shows, added, "I attended the secretary computer mangement lecture. I felt that I needed to know all the details even though I do not do the scheduling."
On the hot topic of the year, Susie reported, "On Sunday morning, Connie spoke to the group about the impending USDF recommended rule regarding riding 3rd level and above, in which the rider must qualify prior to moving up the levels. The USDF committee would like to pattern the US rider requirements after the Europeans. As riders who show, we must be informed." Details are still being worked out, as there has been substantial controversy over what the qualifications should be, and the date by which they will be implemented has moved out. Stay tuned!
