Kari Browne
I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area where I started riding at the age of 5. I got my
first pony, named Sparky, when I was 11 and started showing soon after. I have had horses
most of my life and have shown extensively in both the english and western divisions before becoming interested in eventing in my early 20s. I was involved with the CTETA Horse Park
when it first came into being and ran their PR program for over a year and did many stints as a
jump judge. At the same time I competed up to the Training level and spent a summer
in Oregon as a working student for Keith Schramm and Olympian Kevin Freeman. I continued to ride in events until I was bitten by the dressage bug in the mid 80's. I turned seriously to the sport and have seen dressage grow and improve in the area over the years. I currently have a 12 year old Dutch gelding named Navigator that I compete at third level, training with Heidi Gaian and Pam Nelson. When I'm not riding I work at Sun Microsystems, or spend time with my husband and our two english setters Roy and Dale.
